REPORT DATE: 06-28-2019 REPORT TIME: 1400 UTC REGION: GULF OF MEXICO SUB REGION: N/A AREA/BLOCK: TRINITY BAY 5-8C IMAGE DATE: 06-27-2019 IMAGE TIME: 0018 UTC DATA SOURCE: SENTINEL1A MODE: Interferometric Wide (IW) VV RESOLUTION: 20 meter LOCATION: 29°40'09" N/94°44'04" W AREA: 0.53 square kilometers (Updated 05/26/2020) CONFIDENCE: Medium-High REMARKS: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS REPORT IS BASED ON IMAGERY MORE THAN 24HRS OLD.Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The narrow anomaly was 2.5nm long, and had a large contrast to the grey-colored surroundings with well-defined edges, and appeared out of place. The anomaly was located in Trinity Bay, about 38nm SE from Houston. The wind at the time was about 10kt from the SSE. UNCERTAINTIES: There were several oil facilities nearby, the nearest was located 0.2nm to the north of anomaly. But since the anomaly was not attached to the oil facility, it was hard to pinpoint a point source.
