REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was located approximately 53.47 nm NE of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and about 6.64 nm W of the EEZ. It was approximately 10.83 nm in length and 0.27 nm at its widest. The anomaly was visibly attached to the possible point source. It had high contrast against its surroundings. Winds at the time of the image were coming from the SSE between 10-15 kts.


UNCERTAINTIES: The northern end of the anomaly seemed like a typical ship wake but the southern end of the anomaly caused uncertainty. It exhibited a slight feathering signature and it did widen further south.
