REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly extended about 3 NM long by approximately 0.8 NM wide at its widest point, had very good contrast with its backgound (despite unfavorable winds), had sharp turns consistent with an oil spill and appeared to originate from a point source. Winds were out of the SW at 20-30 KT at the time of the image. Considering the above factors, we have MED-HIGH confidence in this assessment.

UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly was located in a shallow region which owes to a higher possibility of a false positive. However, in this case, the shape of the anomaly appears to be consistent with an oil spill.
