REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil.  The oil slick was linear in shape, had strong contrast against the ocean background and was likely to be associated with a bilge dump.  It was likely to be related to NRC report #1378971. The slick was centered approximately 55 nmi southeast of Miami, Florida and approximately 5.0 miles east of the U.S. EEZ.  The slick was 6.9 nmi long and 0.63 nmi wide at its widest point.  It had some indications of feathering around the middle of the slick.  Winds near the time of the image were coming from the north at 8 knots and aligned well with this feathering.

UNCERTAINTIES:  There were false positives in the vicinity.
