REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The linear slick was located approximately 118 nm S of LA and appeared to be emanating from a suspected facility. The anomaly was dark-toned in appearance, had a strong contrast against its background, and was distinguishable from natural phenomena. It measured approximately 4.5 nm in length and 0.08 nm at the widest point. Winds near the time of the image were out of the SSE at approximately 10 kts.

UNCERTAINTIES: Cloud cover partially obscured the SW section of the anomaly to include the location near the suspected source. Therefore, the full extent of the slick's surface area as well as the exact association of the anomaly with the suspected source cannot be confirmed.
