REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was approximately 45 NM off the Louisiana coast in the Ship Shoal area. The anomaly tested negative for vegetation and contrasted with natural phenomena in the area. Bright silver patches indicating thicker oil were gathered to the southern edge and feathered to the north. The southern edge measured about 6 NM long and the widest area measured 2.5 NM across. Winds were 5 kts from the northeast. This anomaly is likely related to the ORR NRC 1428116, a reported leak where the pipeline meets the platform suspected as the source in this report.

UNCERTAINTIES: The full extent of possible oil was roughly estimated as the anomaly was extremely feathered.
