REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was in the NE corner of the Mississippi Canyon area of Louisiana, approximately 65 NM offshore. There were 2 distinct segments, the larger, situated to the south, measured 7.5 NM while the smaller to the north was 4.5 NM long. The anomaly did not test positive for vegetation though there was macroalgae visible in the area, it was distinct from any natural phenomena and had some bright streaks and patches.  Winds were light, less than 5 kts and variable. 

UNCERTAINTIES: A point source could not be determined with confidence, though several wells were nearby and a pipeline crossed the location.
