REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was associated with the repeat leak source, destroyed Taylor platform, in the Mississippi Canyon area (MC20) offshore Louisiana. Possible oil extended to the west from the point source then faded and drifted south, covering a total distance of approximately 16 NM. A brighter signature and possibly thicker oil was observed closer to the source. Winds were from the east at 8kts, which aligned with the trajectory to the west away from the source.

UNCERTAINTIES: The estimated area of possible oil may have been underestimated due to cloud cover.
