Details/Specifics of Change:
Metop-2/A HRPT data from Wallops Island (WI) and Gilmore Creek (GI) are now available for users. Please notify Cathy Nichols via email if you would like to access to this data. The data is available in the CLASS archive.
Anomaly Report: We are investigating an along track error that we have seen in the FRAC and HRPT geolocation data. This error is likely also to be in the data for other instruments. Our observations indicate that the greatest error is between 30 deg. and 60 deg. latitude with a magnitude of about 4 to 5 kilometers. There is minimal across track error. Note that only the northern hemisphere ascending and southern hemisphere descending portions of the orbits exhibit the along track error. We have nearly completed our investigation into this problem and hope to have a fix for it in the near future. This problem will not prevent NOAA from declaring the Metop-2/.A data operational on May 21, 2007.
