Satellite(s) Involved:
NOAA-19
Instrument(s) Involved:
Navigation
Product(s) Involved/Affected:
All Products/attitude adjustment
Date/Time(UTC) of Initial Implementation:
27 May 2009, Time 1311 UTC
Details/Specifics of Change:
A consistent attitude error (roll, pitch, and yaw) has been observed in both the AVHRR and SBUV data indicating a spacecraft error. On 27 May 2009, jday 147, the Earth Sensor Array (ESA) coefficients on NOAA-19 will be adjusted by Satellite Operations Control Center (SOCC) Engineering. This will happen on rev 1552 around 1311 UTC. Engineering expects the roll and pitch errors to improve. After the update, NOAA will reanalyze HRPT imagery, review the spacecraft telemetry, and report the results. This is being done in preparation for the switch of NOAA-19 into the operational afternoon satellite position. The proposed implementation date is 2 June 2009. More information on this will follow.
