DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1500Z June 14, 2025
SMOKE: Northeast Pacific/Alaska/Canada/Northern and Central United States/Atlantic Ocean... Wildfire activity around northeastern British Columbia, central Manitoba and western Ontario continued to produce moderate to thick smoke coverage across Canada and Alaska. A wider area of light to moderate smoke spread south into the northeast Pacific and Northwestern U.S., and along the east side of the Rockies into Texas. The smoke continued east across the northern Atlantic toward Europe. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Mexico... Light smoke and aerosols were observed along the western coastline of Mexico and across the Yucatan. DUST: Tropical Atlantic... Saharan Dust was observed moving west across the Atlantic towards the Caribbean and Lesser Antilles. Mills THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
