SMOKE: Alaska/Canada/Western and Eastern United States/Atlantic Ocean... Widespread wildfire activity across Alaska and northwestern and central Canada continued to generate smoke that spread from Alaska and northwestern Canada across the continent into the Atlantic. Moderate to thick smoke plumes were observed across Alaska and northwestern and central Canada. Lighter smoke moved offshore and southward, with some circling back toward the U.S. East Coast and accumulating across the Southeast. Southwestern United States/Northwest Mexico... Wildfires in northern Baja California and southwestern Utah were observed producing light to locally moderate smoke that traveled northeast as far as Manitoba. The smoke then continued eastward, merged with widespread smoke from Canada and Alaska, and moved toward the Atlantic.
