DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Northeastern Alaska, Canada, Northern Plains of the United States and the North Atlantic Ocean... Wildfire activity continues across Northeastern British Columbia, southwestern Northwest Territories, Northwestern Alberta, Northeastern Saskatchewan and Northwestern Manitoba, resulting in a large plume of smoke that covers eastern Alaska, most of Canada, the far Northern Plains of the United States and the North Atlantic Ocean. Within this area, a large area of moderate to high density smoke was seen covering much of central Canada and the far Northern Plains. The highest density smoke within this area extended from northeastern British Columbia and the far southwest Northwest Territories fire activity east through northern Alberta, Saskatchewan and far western Manitoba. Southwestern US... Wildfires in Southwestern Utah and Northeastern Arizona continued this evening with an area of smoke concentrated near the fire origin. Rodriguez THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
